Img2CAD is a handy and lightweight software tool that allows you to convert any image file into vectorial image format, ready to be edited with any CAD application. The program is capable of converting in batches any number of source images and you can even select full folders and let the program find the image files inside them for you.

Img2CAD offers a fairly simple and unattractive user interface whose visual design might be widely improved. The program allows you to add all the source files you want to convert at once, and will show them all on the conversion list. Among the input formats supported by Img2CAD there are many popular image file formats and some not-so-popular ones, such as BMP, PNG, JPG, GIF, PCX, J2K, JAS, TGA, JBG, and MNG. The output formats supported by the program, on the other hand, are DXF, EMF, WMF, HPGL, and even plain text. If you select text format, the program writes a series of commands that can be interpreted by any standard CAD application.

Finally, before you start the conversion process, you can tweak many relevant parameters in the "Options" window. Among them, you can select the thinning method between the center line and the outline and the objects to be identified, such as arcs, circles, and polylines. You can also type a scale value, a color threshold value, and the tolerance level.
